Trends 2017

Honest Materials trend focuses on high-quality handwork artistry in which value is attached to design keeping traditions alive. The careful handling of original materials gives rise to ground products as unobtrustive as they are durable.

Graphics in this trend pulls from natural fibers. Woven patterns give tactile interest across multiple materials. Herdmar takes patterns to utensils as a way of adding depth to otherwise flat-shaped designs while Fuga carves into wood to combine visual interest with a natural form.

Notable Shapes trend focuses on an interior design full of clarity and character defining classic-modern elegance with powerful silhouettes. In the center stands the sculptural form, self-confident, monolithic and very concise.

As product forms are highly angled with strong edges, graphics in this trend focus in the direction of geometric patterns. Complimenting tonal colors give richness to the look as used with Haferkorn & Sauerbrey. Livo uses patterns as texture elements for both ceramic and textiles.

Delicate Structures trend focuses around filigree structures and textures inspired by nature. With the help of innovative processes, they create refined, comfortable surfaces. They invite to be touched and impart a sensual pleasure.

Organic movements of foliage inspire the graphic designs in this trend. Pulling from the natural grains of trees, Aerts NV forms textural patterns in tableware. T-Nishikawa builds simplicity with hand-drawn florals.

Colors 2017

Scandinavian influence has a strong presence across housewares and interiors using simple clean design with a focus on the purities of form and breaks in textures. Pure white paired with natural woods enhances the finished look.

Neutral gray remains a key classic. Tonal variations give product the look of stone with white offering a softened touch. Pairing wood with the color gives natural warmth to the full assortment.

Poppy pastels brighten interiors and product. Paired with gray, the colors are enhanced even further as seen with Berghoff, giving the tones more of an edge.

Midnight blue remains as a strong element across product, usually found as statement pieces in design. Now finding it's way onto metals, the tone gives a deep contrast while offering a bold hint of color.
